MINI-ALBUM KIT. The number stencil in this kit was ideal for this layout about my daughter's fifteenth birthday. I misted over the first column of numbers, which contains a "1" and a "5," moving the stencil over a bit each time and blocking off the surrounding area with scratch paper. After the area dried, I placed the stencil over the misted numbers and outlined the negative spaces. |

I never quite know what to do with the strings on tags, but when one of them flopped forward, criss-crossing the other, I had an idea to create a heart. Hooray for happy accidents! |

PAPERCRAFTING KIT. The chevron stencil and ledger stamp in this month's kit prompted me to pull out my Lavender Sachet and Speckled Egg paints and inks and have some messy fun with this layout. I rarely use purple on layouts. It was time. :) |

I removed the die-cut letters from the "love" stencil card and filled the negative space with glitter that I matched to the color of my daughter's shirt in the photo. I smoothed glitter glue over a scrap of cardstock, covered it with glitter, shook off the excess, and used it to back the stencil card. |

I repeatedly stamped the background with the exclusive ledger stamp, and built the rest of the layout over that. |

PAPERCRAFTING KIT + ARTISAN KIT. This photo of me and some Krispy Kreme doughnuts flown in from North Carolina (since there is no Krispy Kreme on Oahu) inspired me to create a fun and colorful layout about my favorite kinds of junk food. I began by dripping red, yellow, and blue mist on cardstock, and built the rest of the layout over that. I then layered accents from the kits next to the photo, including an arrow that I painted using a Speckled Egg paint dabber. |

MINI-ALBUM KIT. One of my scrapping goals for 2013 is to document even more of my family's stories. Not all of them make it into my layouts, but so many of them deserve to be documented. I painted the cover using a Lemon Drops paint dabber, and then misted over the negative space left behind after creating die-cut months of the year. |

There are four sections in the album, each containing three partitioned page protectors. Some months are more eventful than others, so rather than relegate one page per month, I decided to work in three-month clusters. I'll fill up the spaces with photos, stories, lists, and random tidbits collected through the course of the year. I've already filled every page with pre-cut papers, to make it easier for me to keep up with the album once the year begins. |
