i've been playing in the studio, experimenting with beeswax and encaustic techniques {something i've wanted to do for a loooong time!}. i used left over scraps from my august kit to create this mini canvas. the background was painted in jbs for ranger "seed packet" and the blue hued section at the bottom was created by painting the stencil with "soap powder" on a piece of vellum which added a gorgeous translucent quality.

the brown circle the stamp is floating on is actually the reverse side of a huge milk cap from a previous jbs kit.

i built up the edges of the canvas with layers and layers of beeswax and then stamped them while still warm with the jbs receipt stamp.

i recently started sewing again and took out my old japanese craft books, specifically, "machine made patchworks" and was inspired both the book and a new scrap crush of mine {http://creativityandlove.blogspot.com/} to pile on the paper. i have a feeling this will be a style i will explore alot more. ;)

The exclusive rosette stamp is another fav this month and is reproduced from my very favorite jbs rubon sheet of all time {transferware}. I stamped the image then added jbs paint dabber accents in malted milk & soap powder to make the design pop a little more.

i LOVE this month's exclusive stencil. when i saw it i was reminded of old wooden wallpaper blocks that they used to use to hand print the paper. I used the stencil as a color-blocked by painting sections of the kraft cardstock with jbs dabbers in lemon drop, stick candy and chicken feed. then i patch-worked paper and embellies to tie it all in together.

my littles have found out my phone password which means i find alot of random pictures in it that they've taken. this one was from my son and i just added alot of stacked elements to fill the page. the mini alpha is from a previous kit.

i recently started playing with a ranger melting pot that i've had for a few years and dipped the vintage ice tickets into it to add some texture, i did the same thing with the blue flower.

dina & i skype alot and by the end of every conversation we get a little crazy and i always end up with some silly screen shots. for this layout i took every single last piece of paper from my kit {i have NONE left, can you believe it!} and just layered and layered and layered. then i tucked in some embellies and a few other vintage bits from the add-on.

and now, i have no kit left except the minibook from the project kit and a few misc embellies. that is the sign of a good kit!!

random bits.

again, i dipped the JBS stars into the utee in my melt pot and removed with tweezers. love how glossy they are.

As you can see, KL had an awesomely productive month!  We have housed her project overflow in the Jenni Bowlin Project Gallery.  :)
